ECARX Holdings has officially commenced the full takeover of Flyme OS’s core assets and operations from Starry Meizu Group, including all intellectual property rights under the Flyme OS brand, all ongoing Flyme Auto business activities, customer contracts, and R&D teams. ECARX will now manage these assets and operations under unified oversight. This move aims to deepen the integration between intelligent mobility and cross-device ecosystems. Flyme Auto is an intelligent cockpit system deeply customized by Meizu based on Android. As of May 2025, vehicles equipped with the jointly developed Flyme Auto system by ECARX and Meizu have accumulated sales of 1.16 million units across more than 22 models. In 2025 alone, Flyme Auto installations surpassed 2.26 million units. The target for 2026, in collaboration with Geely Group, is 3 million units, while partnerships with multiple international automotive groups are also underway. In September 2024, Geely Holding Group released the “Taizhou Declaration,” outlining five core strategic pillars: strategic focus, strategic integration, strategic synergy, strategic prudence, and strategic talent development. The goal is to return to “One Geely” by consolidating internal resources and eliminating redundant investments. In January 2026, Geely further unveiled its “One Geely, Global Leadership” 2030 strategic vision, emphasizing global synergy and aiming to position key performance indicators among the world’s leading automakers. The integration of Flyme OS operations represents a concrete step toward realizing this strategy. On February 27, 2025, Meizu announced a strategic shift, halting domestic smartphone hardware R&D projects and pivoting toward AI-driven software products, building its future around the Flyme open ecosystem. Subsequent reports indicated that Flyme Auto’s automotive business would operate independently and be absorbed into ECARX’s operational framework. Founded in 2017 and listed on Nasdaq in 2022, ECARX currently operates in 13 regions worldwide, with its technology deployed in approximately 11 million vehicles. The company achieved its first quarterly profit in Q4 2025, providing a solid financial foundation for sustained R&D investment following the integration.
