GAC Group announced it will officially unveil its next-generation comprehensive hybrid technology system at the 2026 GAC Tech Day on April 12. This system encompasses multiple technical pathways, including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). The new PHEV technology delivers wheel-end total torque in the four-wheel-drive system reaching the 10,000 N·m range, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in under 4 seconds, while reducing fuel consumption to approximately 3 liters per 100 kilometers for vehicles with a curb weight of around 2 metric tons. The next-generation HEV⁺ technology retains key advantages such as no need for external charging, freedom from range anxiety, and low fuel consumption. It features an industry-first high-rate, high-capacity safety battery capable of supporting high-power electrical demands. This system provides near-EV levels of cabin quietness during driving and enables extended-duration power supply while parked, along with features like Sentry Mode and seamless over-the-air (OTA) vehicle updates. GAC will showcase the complete technical solution at Tech Day and may reveal additional specifications and details about models equipped with these technologies.
