Ferrari is developing its first electric vehicle, the Luce, and collaborating with multiple external partners during the R&D process. To optimize cabin design, Ferrari has teamed up with LoveFrom, a creative studio founded by former Apple chief design officer Jony Ive. Additionally, due to the extremely strong acceleration of electric vehicles—which could cause passenger discomfort—Ferrari has engaged with NASA and initiated medical research to assess the upper limits of human-tolerable acceleration for comfort. According to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, the instantaneous acceleration of EVs could "disrupt the brain," prompting the company to define the "threshold of uncomfortable acceleration." Despite this research, the Luce will still deliver formidable performance: it will feature four electric motors, a 122.0 kWh battery pack, peak output exceeding 986 horsepower, a 0–62 mph acceleration time of 2.5 seconds, and a top speed of 192 mph. The car will also be equipped with an independent rear-wheel steering system and active suspension derived from the Purosangue and F80 models. Currently released interior images show that physical buttons and switches have been retained inside the cabin. The Luce is expected to make its official debut later this year.
