The 2026 Leapmotor L90 will officially launch on April 21. The vehicle will be equipped with NIO’s self-developed “Shenji NX9031” intelligent driving-assist chip and the latest “NIO World Model (NWM).” It will be offered in two configurations: a LiDAR-equipped version and a pure vision version. Due to rising costs of high-performance components such as memory, the LiDAR version carries an approximate RMB 10,000 higher cost. The pure vision version will continue to be sold and will receive a major update after the LiDAR version begins deliveries, covering enhancements to the intelligent cockpit, intelligent chassis, and intelligent driving-assist systems. This driving-assist update will adopt an end-to-end model to significantly improve urban and highway navigation-assist experiences. The Shenji NX9031 is an automotive-grade 5nm chip that successfully taped out in July 2024. It integrates over 50 billion transistors and features a 32-core CPU architecture. It includes built-in LPDDR5x memory (with a data rate of 8,533 Mbps), a high-dynamic-range, high-performance ISP, and delivers a pixel processing capability of 6.5 GPixel/s with processing latency under 5ms.
