On April 11, during the High-Level Forum on Intelligent Electric Vehicles (2026), Lu Fang, Chairman of Voyah Auto, engaged in discussions with multiple media outlets. Addressing the current industry trend of promoting 896-line LiDAR systems, Lu noted a misleading tendency in automotive discourse, where certain marketing claims have led the public to mistakenly believe that all vehicles are already equipped with this technology—contrary to reality. He stressed that consumers’ understanding of intelligent driving should be based on comprehensive and objective information, rather than on a single specification or numerical figure. Lu stated that Voyah is committed to delivering solid technology and tangible user experiences, and is currently in discussions with Huawei on this front. He emphasized that autonomous driving capabilities should be evaluated based on a vehicle’s overall performance, not solely on one isolated metric. He called on influential companies and individuals to exercise restraint in their technical communications, avoid using gimmicks that mislead the public, and instead provide users with complete and truthful information about the technology.
