Recently, a large volume of promotional content with the uniform headline “I Thought It’d Be an Easy Choice—But After Test-Driving the NX8 and i6, I’m Speechless…” has flooded the internet, heavily praising Dongfeng Nissan’s NX8 while disparaging Li Auto’s i6. The Dongfeng Nissan NX8, a mid-to-large five-seat SUV launched in April this year, is available in both all-electric and range-extended variants, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Li Auto i6. Shortly afterward, Li Xiang, founder of Li Auto, posted a comment stating, “Often, puppet troops are even worse than the enemy—and automakers are no exception,” which was widely interpreted as a public rebuke directed at Dongfeng Nissan over the alleged use of paid posters to denigrate competitors.
