Didi Autonomous Driving has achieved self-reliance and control over the full-stack core technologies required for Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving. Its technological breakthroughs span AI core algorithms, automotive-grade hardware systems, and deep integration with massive real-world scenario data. In December 2025, Didi launched round-the-clock, fully driverless passenger trials in Huangpu District, a core residential and commercial area of Guangzhou, covering high-frequency travel scenarios such as subway stations, schools, shopping centers, office buildings, and residential communities. In January 2026, Didi and GAC Aion jointly developed and officially delivered the new-generation Robotaxi model R2 for on-road testing. Built on a vehicle platform meeting both Chinese and European five-star safety standards, the R2 features multiple layers of safety redundancy and supports personalized cabin settings, including pre-adjustable lighting, music, air conditioning, and seat positions. On the operational front, Didi has piloted a hybrid dispatch model in cities like Guangzhou, integrating autonomous vehicles with its ride-hailing fleet through its intelligent scheduling system on the mobility platform. Additionally, leveraging its operational experience across 14 countries alongside its comprehensive capabilities in AI technology, hardware, and mobility scenarios, Didi plans to accelerate the global deployment of autonomous driving through a hybrid network model.
