On April 12, GAC Group held its 2026 GAC Tech Day at its Panyu headquarters, officially unveiling the "Stellar Power" technology brand, which encompasses three technical pathways: Stellar Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), Stellar Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV), and Stellar Super Dual擎 (HEV+). The Stellar Plug-in Hybrid system is developed based on the GMC 3.0 hybrid transmission and comes in two variants: Thunder Edition and Gale Edition. The Thunder Edition prioritizes performance, delivering a maximum system output torque exceeding 6,700 Nm. Combined with a P4 rear electric motor, it achieves a total wheel-end torque of 10,000 Nm, enabling mid-to-large SUVs to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds. The Gale Edition emphasizes efficiency, weighing just 98.5 kg with a peak transmission efficiency of 98.65% and an electric control efficiency of 99.2%. The system also features AI-powered intelligent vector control technology, capable of dynamically distributing torque between the front and rear axles within milliseconds to enhance vehicle off-road capability. The Stellar Super Dual擎 targets conventional internal combustion engine vehicle users and debuts with a 5.4 kWh high-rate safety battery, offering a peak discharge power of 150 kW. It supports over 17 km of pure electric driving under low-speed conditions. This battery enables hybrid vehicles to offer intelligent features comparable to those of pure EVs—including in-car entertainment usage while parked, vehicle-to-load (V2L) power supply, Sentry Mode, and full-vehicle OTA updates—without consuming any fuel. Under CLTC conditions, a compact sedan achieves a fuel consumption of approximately 2 L/100 km, while a 2.1-ton, seven-seat midsize MPV records fuel consumption in the "3.x L/100 km" range. The Stellar Power systems have completed 10 million kilometers of equivalent validation and extreme-environment testing. Notably, the Stellar Plug-in Hybrid has already been awarded the title of “World’s Top 10 Hybrid Powertrain Systems.”
