On April 12, the Strategic New Materials Innovation and Application Platform was officially launched at the High-Level Forum on Intelligent and Electric Vehicle Development. Initiated by Chebai Innovation Center together with nearly 30 companies, the platform focuses on four core missions: industrial research, industry collaboration, joint innovation, and policy and standards development. It aims to foster deep integration between new materials and the automotive industry and build a collaborative innovation ecosystem spanning the entire industrial chain. By integrating resources from upstream and downstream enterprises as well as academia, industry, and research institutions, the platform will prioritize key areas such as vehicle lightweighting, next-generation batteries, and next-generation automotive technologies. It seeks to establish a complete innovation chain—from fundamental materials research to real-world application—to drive breakthroughs in original technologies and enable large-scale adoption of new materials, thereby supporting high-quality development of China’s automotive industry and the growth of strategic emerging industries.
