Hexagon AB has agreed to acquire Waygate Technologies, a business unit of Baker Hughes, for approximately $1.45 billion in cash. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of this year. Upon completion, Hexagon will gain non-destructive testing (NDT) technologies—including remote visual inspection, ultrasonic, radiographic, and imaging solutions—widely used in the energy, aerospace, and automotive industries to detect flaws without disrupting operations or damaging equipment. The acquisition aims to strengthen Hexagon’s position in industrial inspection technologies and aligns with the growing demand for automation.
