On April 13, the Cadillac brand announced that its new full-size all-electric flagship SUV, the Celestiq (Chinese name: Kai Wei De), will officially launch on April 22. The vehicle is the third locally produced all-electric SUV from SAIC-GM Cadillac, positioned between the IQ Lyriq and the Escalade IQ. Built on GM’s Ultium EV platform, the Celestiq features a 2+2+2 six-seat layout. With overall dimensions of 5,222 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width, and 1,799 mm in height—and a wheelbase of 3,094 mm—it falls squarely into the large all-electric SUV segment. The vehicle offers a maximum approach angle of 19 degrees and a ground clearance of up to 193 mm. It also comes equipped with rear-wheel active steering to enhance maneuverability in tight driving conditions. In terms of performance, the single-motor variant delivers a maximum output of 255 kW. The dual-motor version combines a 183-kW front motor and a 260-kW rear motor for a combined output of 443 kW, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of under 4 seconds. The Celestiq is powered by a ternary lithium battery pack, offering three CLTC-range variants: 573 km, 601 km, and 642 km. It supports DC fast charging, capable of adding approximately 127 km of range in just 10 minutes. For intelligent features, the Celestiq incorporates an industry-first hidden in-cabin LiDAR sensor mounted along the upper edge of the windshield’s interior side, eliminating external protrusions and reducing environmental interference. It is also Cadillac’s first model to feature Momenta’s intelligent driving assistance solution, supporting L2++ advanced driver-assistance functions and navigation-guided pilot capabilities.
