On the evening of April 15, XPeng Motors held its GX Technology Launch Event, announcing that pre-sales have begun for its first full-size flagship SUV, the GX, with a starting pre-sale price of RMB 399,800. Following the event, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPeng Group, commented on collaborations with home appliance companies, stating that XPeng is working with firms such as Midea and Fuyao on components including air conditioning systems, vehicle-mounted refrigerators, zero-gravity seats, and air cushions. These partnerships aim to enhance product quality and technological sophistication. He added that collaboration between the automotive and home appliance industries could help drive advancements in the latter sector. Regarding XPeng’s "human-car-home ecosystem" strategy, He Xiaopeng made it clear that the company currently has no plans to enter the home appliance market. He emphasized that automobile manufacturing itself is already an endeavor filled with “immense challenges,” and XPeng will not expand into other industries in the near term. He further noted that if automakers were to enter the home appliance sector en masse, it could intensify competitive pressures in that industry, which currently maintains a relatively healthy level of competition. Additionally, He Xiaopeng remarked that over the past decade, XPeng’s core business has always been automobiles. In the next ten years, the company will enter a new phase integrating new energy vehicles with intelligent agents and may witness significant breakthroughs in the field of robotics.
