On the morning of April 16, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, announced that a live-streamed long-distance range test of the new Xiaomi SU7—from Beijing to Shanghai—will begin at 6:30 a.m. on April 17. The journey will take approximately 15 hours, and Lei Jun will participate throughout the entire trip. In response to concerns from some netizens that the live stream might attract negative publicity, Lei stated, "We can't stay silent just because there are smear articles out there." Previously, Li Xiaoshuang, Vice President of Xiaomi Automobile, noted that for safety and fatigue-related reasons, Lei Jun will not personally drive the vehicle; instead, staff members will take turns driving during the test.
