GAC Trumpchi Unveils E8 PHEV: 205km EV Range, LiDAR, and 7-Seater Layout

GAC Trumpchi recently released official images of the E8 PHEV. This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) features a seven-seat layout and is powered by a hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with an electric motor. It is equipped with a 38.883 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, delivering a pure-electric driving range of 205 km. Exterior-wise, the new model sports a redesigned front fascia. Due to its plug-in hybrid nature, it features a smaller grille with a radial pattern and integrated air curtains on both sides. The headlights consist of a full-width LED daytime running light strip paired with dual LED headlamps. The side profile showcases smooth character lines, large multi-spoke alloy wheels, and power-sliding rear doors. At the rear, full-width taillights echo the design theme of the front end. The vehicle measures 5,000 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,778 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Inside, the cabin adopts a T-shaped dashboard layout accented with wood-grain trim. Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen. The second row features two independent captain’s chairs with leg rests, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Additional amenities include a 17.3-inch multi-angle foldable suspended screen, a detachable tray table, and a three-zone refrigerator. Mounted on the roof is a LiDAR unit, enabling advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
