On April 17, GAC Group announced the official establishment of its Intelligent Cockpit Product Line, a pivotal move in its intelligentization strategy within the company’s self-owned business segment. This new product line will integrate hardware and software resources, R&D capabilities, and design teams in the cockpit domain, taking unified responsibility for product definition, technology planning, and user experience design across all brands. Under this new structure, intelligent cockpit development will span the entire lifecycle—from user requirements and product definition to technology development, mass production delivery, and continuous iteration—and will be deeply embedded into the overall vehicle development system. The team will engage from the earliest stages of vehicle planning to ensure consistent and distinctive intelligent experiences across all models. Leveraging its self-developed “Galaxy Smart Cabin” system, the product line will apply technologies such as large AI models and multimodal interaction to shift cockpits from passively responding to commands toward proactively understanding user needs, moving away from previous development approaches characterized by feature stacking and adding configurations merely for the sake of specifications.
