Renault Group has launched a dual-platform strategy in the Indian market, planning to introduce seven new models by 2030 and accelerate its electrification roadmap. This strategy is built upon two new platforms: RGEP (Renault Group Entry Platform) and RGMP (Renault Group Modular Platform). RGEP targets vehicles priced below ₹1 million (approximately RMB 85,000) and will be used to develop upgraded versions of models like the Kiger and Triber. It supports factory-fitted CNG configurations, new powertrains, and a next-generation digital electronic architecture. RGMP, designed for vehicles ranging from 4.0 to 4.7 meters in length, offers multi-energy compatibility and will underpin four models, including the Duster SUV and the upcoming Bridger SUV. The RGMP platform already features an electrification roadmap called the “E-tech Solutions,” covering strong hybrids and battery-electric vehicles, while also exploring super-hybrid and e-4WD (electric all-wheel drive) technologies. E-tech technologies will be progressively rolled out across Renault’s entire lineup starting in 2026. The Bridger SUV will initially launch with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine, followed by a battery-electric version several months later—marking Renault’s first electric vehicle in India. Renault’s India Engineering Center will transform into a key software development hub for the group, taking charge of annual model updates, product lifecycle enhancements, and technological upgrades. Currently, Renault’s India lineup—including the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber—is based on the older CMFA platform. Through this new platform strategy, Renault aims to achieve a 5% market share in India.
