Zhijie V9 Unveils Body-in-White Structure and Comprehensive Safety Features; Small-Scale Reservations Open April 22

The Zhiji V9 has unveiled details of its body-in-white structure and safety technologies. The vehicle features an "11-crossmember, 6-longitudinal" layout, equipped with integrated hot-stamped steel door rings. High-strength steel, hot-stamped steel, and aluminum alloys account for 91.6% of the body structure, including 25.1% submarine-grade hot-stamped steel. The total length of hot-stamped steel with a strength of at least 2,000 MPa reaches 15.7 meters. The A-pillar incorporates a 2,000 MPa hot-gas-formed tubular reinforcement. The front crash beam adopts a “mu” (目)-shaped cross-section design with a coverage rate of 76% and is paired with a 211 mm-wide energy-absorbing box. Each side door integrates eight 2,200 MPa hot-stamped anti-intrusion beams. The sill beam uses a 5 mm-thick, 11-cell extruded aluminum structure and includes dual 2,000 MPa hot-stamped crossmembers to provide both side-impact protection and lateral battery pack shielding. The vehicle’s tri-motor electric powertrain system is equipped with Huawei’s “Giant Whale” battery pack, featuring a five-layer structural design that achieves “zero intrusion” of battery cells during side-pole collisions. Each cell is wrapped in five protective layers and paired with a high-voltage flash-disconnect fuse and a cloud-based BMS monitoring system. A smaller auxiliary battery is positioned within a collision-safe zone, and independent redundant modules are implemented for power, control, drive, and signal systems to ensure doors can unlock normally after a crash. The vehicle retains interior emergency door handles and exterior mechanical unlocking mechanisms and supports automatic window lowering by 50 mm and automatic ECALL emergency call activation post-collision. The Zhiji V9 is equipped with 13 airbags throughout the cabin, covering all three rows of seats—including two side curtain airbags, two second-row side airbags, and two third-row side airbags. Notably, it debuts globally the first fully integrated, multi-dimensional wraparound seat-mounted airbag, which provides comprehensive head, neck, and chest protection even when occupants are in zero-gravity or deeply reclined positions. Additionally, the vehicle features an upgraded end-to-end protection mechanism: 0.7 seconds before an imminent collision, the seatback automatically adjusts to a safer position. This works in tandem with the seat-integrated Active Belt Tensioning System (ABTS) to secure the torso and coordinates with the Bottom Airbag (BAB) to stabilize the pelvis, preventing submarining and reducing the risk of pelvic and abdominal injuries. The Zhiji V9 will open for small-scale reservations on April 22. As the first flagship MPV under Harmony Intelligent Mobility, it will be the first production vehicle globally to feature the highest-specification 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR. It also comes equipped with Huawei’s Tuling intelligent chassis platform, Qiankun Smart Driving system, and Snowy Owl intelligent range-extending system.
