The Beijing Off-Road BJ81 “Tactical Box” SUV made its debut at BAIC Group’s 2026 Innovation Product Showcase and will be fully unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, with official market launch scheduled for August 1. Developed under the BIP (Build in Public) co-creation model, the vehicle was shaped by input from over 10,000 off-road enthusiasts, directly translating user needs into concrete design solutions. Exterior highlights include a classic five-slot front grille, headlights integrated with five LED turn-signal strips, and red LED light clusters embedded within each grille opening. The front and rear fenders feature flared wheel arches paired with dual seven-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV adopts a “Guanyin Door” split tailgate design and comes equipped with an externally mounted storage box. The vehicle measures 2,050 mm in width and rides on 305-mm-wide tires. Official powertrain specifications have not yet been released.
