Man Drives into Shop on Rims for AC Repair, Stuns Mechanics

A man drove a Chevrolet into an auto repair shop—without any tires installed—and asked a technician to inspect the air conditioning system. He was wearing shorts, a V-neck tank top, mismatched shoes, an exaggeratedly tall top hat, and headphones. The man described an unusual noise the vehicle made when the AC was turned on and even mimicked the sound for the technician. The technician noticed that all four wheel hubs were completely bare—no tires at all—and pointed out that the noise the customer heard might be related to the missing tires. Undeterred, the man insisted the shop was trying to upsell unnecessary services and grabbed a tool himself in an attempt to remove the lug nuts from the hub. The technician asked him to return the tool. The man then swapped his top hat for the technician’s baseball cap and, without lowering the vehicle from the lift, started the engine and tried to drive away—causing the car to spin its hubs uselessly in place. Eventually, he managed to leave the service bay, still with no tires mounted, rolled down his window, and called out, “Sounds much better now—thanks!” According to automotive repair professionals, driving a vehicle without tires—or solely on bare rims—severely compromises handling and can cause serious damage to the wheel structure. Even run-flat tires are designed only for limited temporary use at restricted speeds and distances. The incident originated from a video that went viral on social media, sparking widespread online discussion. While some commenters found the behavior entertaining, many emphasized that such actions are extremely dangerous in real life and violate fundamental safety standards.
