Ford has confirmed that the upcoming Mustang Dark Horse SC will deliver 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque—just 20 hp shy of the $327,000 Mustang GTD—but with a starting price of $103,490 (excluding tax and destination fees). The model is powered by a hand-assembled supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine paired with a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Developed alongside the Mustang GTD and GT3 race car, the Dark Horse SC is positioned as a track-focused performance vehicle. Its body has been redesigned for improved cooling efficiency, featuring an aluminum hood with carbon-fiber vents that generate 2.5 times more downforce than the standard Dark Horse—though this requires removal of the rain tray. Standard equipment includes next-generation MagneRide dampers and a variable traction control system. With the optional Track Pack, the car gains Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, deletion of the rear seats, and carbon-fiber wheels, reducing overall weight by 150 pounds. Models equipped with the Track Pack start at $139,990. A Special Edition variant adds a graphic-accented hood, Solar Red interior trim, and a carbon-fiber exterior package, bringing the price up to $170,970. This pricing positions the Dark Horse SC against the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, select Porsche 911 models, and the Corvette ZR1. In terms of power, the Dark Horse SC significantly outperforms its rivals—more than doubling the 388 hp of the 911 Carrera and surpassing the Z06’s 670 hp.
