BMW India Aims to Double Mini Sales by 2026

From:Internet Info Agency 2026-04-21 09:04:00

BMW Group India plans to double Mini brand sales in the Indian market in 2026 compared to 2025. In 2025, Mini sold 730 units in India, up 3% year-over-year; in Q1 2026, sales reached 213 units, a 42% year-over-year increase. To achieve its sales target, the company will implement three key initiatives: expanding its product lineup, advancing local production, and extending its retail network. In 2026, Mini will launch one all-new model and nine special-edition variants, and plans to begin local production of the Mini Countryman in India by mid-year. Previously, Mini’s product portfolio in India was limited, primarily consisting only of the Mini Cooper S Hatch and the Mini Countryman Electric. Over the past six months, however, new models—including the Mini Convertible, Mini Countryman JCW ALL4, and Mini Countryman SE ALL4—have been progressively introduced. Demand for combustion-engine Mini models remains strong, accounting for 70% of sales in Q1 2026, with their share expected to rise further throughout the year—particularly as the locally produced Countryman becomes available, significantly boosting the contribution of petrol-powered models to overall sales. On the retail front, Mini’s dealership network in India will expand from the current 13 outlets to 22 by the end of 2026, adding presence in eight new cities. New outlets were already opened in Jaipur and Jodhpur in Q1 2026, with plans to enter Lucknow, Ranchi, Guwahati, Surat, Vijayawada, and Cuttack to tap into tier-2 and tier-3 markets. After-sales services are supported by BMW Group India’s existing network of 52 service centers across 40 cities. Within BMW Group India’s overall strategy, Mini plays a key role in attracting new customers and facilitating cross-selling opportunities with the BMW brand.
