On April 21, 2024, Marelli announced a leadership reshuffle: Cao Ziyue, currently President of the Lighting Business Group for Asia-Pacific, will expand his responsibilities to oversee the global lighting business on an interim basis as Head of the Lighting Business Group and join the company’s Global Executive Committee. Cao Ziyue joined Marelli in 2005 and has accumulated over two decades of deep expertise in the automotive lighting industry. He played a pivotal role in shaping and driving Marelli Lighting’s strategic presence and transformation in the Chinese market, spearheading the establishment of manufacturing facilities in Wuhu, Foshan, Xiaogan, Changchun, and other locations, thereby building a nationwide production network. Appointed General Manager for China in 2017, he led the division’s evolution from a manufacturing base into an innovation hub, strengthening the local R&D system and elevating China’s role in global product development and technological collaboration. After his promotion to President of Asia-Pacific in 2023, he further enhanced regional synergy and resource integration, positioning China as a critical nexus linking global markets and technology networks. In 2025, he assumed responsibility for Global Core Technologies and Advanced Innovation within the Lighting Business Group, overseeing technology platform integration and cross-regional collaboration to enhance the responsiveness and scalability of the technical ecosystem. Following this appointment, Cao will focus on business execution, operational performance, and customer relationship management to ensure the stable operation and high-quality growth of Marelli’s global lighting business. Marelli operates more than 150 plants and R&D centers worldwide, employing approximately 40,000 people across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Africa. This organizational adjustment forms part of Marelli’s ongoing optimization of its global business footprint and underscores the strategic importance of China’s localized capabilities in global collaboration and technological innovation.
