Li Auto has made progress in laminated double-glazed glass technology, achieving a 36% improvement in heat insulation and reducing high-frequency noise entering the cabin by 40% through its self-developed new PVB film. This PVB film was co-developed by Li Auto and Eastman, a global PVB film supplier, and has already rolled off the production line, with plans for integration into Li Auto’s mass-produced vehicles. In addition to enhanced sound insulation, the new film incorporates infrared-absorbing particles that reduce TIR (Total Infrared) transmittance by 36%, delivering the equivalent of a factory-installed sun-protection film valued at approximately RMB 2,000—eliminating the need for customers to apply aftermarket window tinting.
