Volkswagen and XPeng Unveil Second Joint Model "Volkswagen ID.09," Developed in 24 Months, Set for H2 Launch

On April 21, at the Volkswagen Group Media Night held in Beijing, Volkswagen Anhui unveiled the all-electric sedan "Volkswagen Vento 09" in its global debut. Co-developed by Volkswagen and XPeng Motors over a 24-month development cycle, the vehicle is now nearing mass production. Positioned as a B-segment intelligent electric sedan, it measures nearly 5 meters in length and features an enhanced L2-level advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), a high-performance computing platform, and an AI-powered intelligent assistant. As the first B-segment all-electric sedan in the ID. Vento product line—and the second model resulting from the collaboration between the two companies—it is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year.
