On April 21, Chinese Ambassador to Hungary Gong Tao and László Botka, Mayor of Szeged, jointly inspected BYD’s factory project in Szeged, reviewed its construction progress on-site, and exchanged views on deepening China-Hungary cooperation and green industry development. Ambassador Gong noted that China and Hungary share a profound traditional friendship and have continuously achieved tangible results through practical cooperation, with the BYD Szeged plant serving as a significant example of this partnership. He expressed appreciation for the long-standing support from the Szeged municipal government for the project and expressed hope that BYD would continue to deepen its local presence, strengthen collaboration across industrial and supply chains as well as in industry-academia-research partnerships, and make positive contributions to China-Hungary economic and trade cooperation.
