Multiple automakers to halt 7-year low-interest auto loans by end of April

Multiple automakers have confirmed that the low-interest, seven-year auto loan program will be extended through April 30, 2026, though it remains uncertain whether it will continue beyond that date. Some banks had previously discontinued offering this type of loan product, and recently, leasing and financing companies have also been rumored to have received instructions to suspend related services. Sales representatives from certain automakers have shown internal notices stating that, following policy adjustments communicated by banks, applications for six- to seven-year auto loans could be halted at any time, with the latest possible application deadline set for April 30. Additionally, a bank employee responsible for financial services for new-energy vehicle makers indicated that their bank briefly offered the seven-year low-interest auto loan before removing it from its product lineup. While some banks in the industry still provide this loan option, there is an overall trend toward discontinuation, although the exact timing of a full phase-out has not yet been specified.
