At the Huawei Qiankun Technology Conference held on April 23, Huawei unveiled Qiankun ADS 5 and HarmonySpace 6, its latest intelligent driving and in-cabin systems. Outside the main venue, a demonstration area showcased the real-time point cloud performance of Huawei’s new 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR. The live display illustrated how the LiDAR clearly rendered environmental details such as surrounding buildings and pedestrians, with point cloud quality approaching that of camera imagery. In March this year, at the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Tech Refresh Event, Huawei announced its next-generation 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR, which debuted on the Zunjie S800. This LiDAR currently holds the world’s highest line count among mass-produced models, delivering seven times the per-frame point cloud density of 128-line equivalents. It offers significantly enhanced contour clarity and superior small-object detection capabilities—detecting objects as low as 14 cm from long distances. Detection range for low-reflectivity objects like fallen tires has improved by 190%, while recognition distance for irregular obstacles such as toppled traffic cones has increased by 77%.
