At the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, BYD unveiled the production version of the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, named "Break of Dawn." The vehicle features a black-and-gold color scheme and is equipped with an oversized rear wing. Previously, on October 21, 2025, the model set an official lap time of 6 minutes 59.157 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, establishing a new record for production electric vehicles. On November 21 of the same year, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, BYD announced that the Yangwang U9 Xtreme had broken production car lap records at four international racetracks—Zhuzhou, Zhuhai, Chengdu Tianfu, and Shanghai—becoming the fastest production car on all four professional circuits. The car is powered by four custom-developed 30,000-rpm electric motors, each delivering a peak output of 555 kW, resulting in a total maximum power output of 3,019 horsepower. It incorporates high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum housings, high-speed bearings, and 970 MPa rotors, achieving an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1,217 PS per tonne.
