Xpeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng stated that the company is in talks with overseas automakers to establish manufacturing plants abroad and plans to bring its advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) to the global market. This ADAS has already drawn significant interest from European companies, domestic automakers, and Tier 1 automotive suppliers. He emphasized that Xpeng’s autonomous driving solution is globally adaptable, easier to deploy, and offers enhanced safety. He revealed that he will meet with Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume this Friday and described the collaboration between the two companies over the past three years as “progressing smoothly.” Currently, demand for Xpeng vehicles in France and Germany already exceeds the company’s existing production capacity. Xpeng plans to expand its overseas manufacturing capabilities starting in 2026 through upgrading existing facilities and building new production bases, with potential locations including Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. With growing monetization of its technology and expansion of international operations, the company expects its profitability to improve sequentially in 2024. Additionally, Xpeng is advancing the commercialization of autonomous ride-hailing services and other AI-powered mobility initiatives. He asserted that the next five to ten years will be a decisive period for automakers, and Xpeng aims to transform into a global AI technology company within a decade.
