BYD Dynasty Network unveiled its first D-segment flagship SUV, the Tang EV, at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, launching pre-sales with a price range of RMB 250,000 to 320,000. The vehicle is scheduled to officially launch in the first half of 2024. Built on BYD’s full-domain 1000V high-voltage architecture and equipped with second-generation Blade Battery technology, the Tang EV offers both single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants. The AWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and delivers a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 950 kilometers. It supports ultra-fast charging, featuring a 10C battery and 1000A charging current, enabling a theoretical peak charging power of up to 1000 kW. Exterior-wise, the Tang EV adopts BYD’s latest family design language, highlighted by an extended full-width daytime running light, vertical headlamps, and a hood with two prominent character lines. The vehicle measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Inside, it features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, with front-row zero-gravity seats, independent third-row seats with armrests, and a hollow-core layered ceiling. Interior highlights include a floating central touchscreen, a passenger-side entertainment display, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen for second-row passengers. The cabin is powered by a 3nm automotive-grade chip, a 7.1.4-channel Devialet sound system with 27 speakers, and a “Mirror Sky” panoramic glass roof with a hollow-core interlayer. For chassis and handling, the Tang EV is equipped with BYD’s Yun辇-A intelligent air suspension featuring a dual-chamber structure and integrated road preview functionality. It also offers a crab-walk mode and rear-wheel steering system.
