On April 23, 2026, Huawei held the Qiankun Technology Conference at the Diamond Court of the National Tennis Center in Beijing under the theme “Safety with Qiankun, Peace of Mind Toward a Better Future.” The event unveiled ten core technology upgrades, headlined by Huawei’s next-generation intelligent driving system—Huawei Qiankun ADS 5. ADS 5 adopts a multi-sensor fusion approach, integrating cameras, LiDAR, and millimeter-wave radar for comprehensive environmental perception. Built upon WEWA 2.0—an AI agent architecture purpose-built for autonomous driving—it enables cloud-to-vehicle agent collaboration: the cloud leverages Multi-Agent game theory and online reinforcement learning models, while the vehicle deploys a “Safety Risk Field” technology to generate dynamic risk heatmaps and features a Driving Agent capable of autonomously optimizing driving strategies. On the software front, Huawei introduced the Qiankun OS operating system, equipped with a deterministic low-latency engine, an end-to-end zero-trust security model, and a fully dimensional safety redundancy architecture. The Qiankun Digital Chassis Engine XMC was simultaneously upgraded to version 3.0, achieving deep algorithmic synergy with the ADS system and supporting multimodal AI-based vehicle-infrastructure cooperative algorithms and MIMO joint algorithms. In hardware, Huawei launched the LCoS dual-focus AR-HUD AR600. The ADS 5 safety system was upgraded to CAS 5.0, adding a new dimension—“full-time-domain safety”—to its existing five-dimensional safety framework (covering all speeds, directions, targets, weather conditions, and scenarios). This new dimension encompasses both pre-incident prevention and post-incident protection. Pre-incident functions can send road hazard alerts to other connected vehicles within a 5-kilometer radius and proactively reduce speed; post-incident protection can move third-row seats forward when rear-end collision risks are anticipated, creating additional buffer space. Key functional enhancements include eAES 3.0, which actively initiates lane changes or acceleration to avoid side-rear hazards during assisted driving; integration with a next-generation 896-line LiDAR to improve detection of low-reflectivity obstacles; and HUAWEI XHUD with enhanced visibility in rain and fog. Additional new features include steering wheel misoperation correction, oversteer stability control assistance, blowout stability control assistance for dual-motor vehicles, and Driver Incapacitation Assistance 2.0. For driver assistance, the “Parking Spot-to-Parking Spot 3.0” update expands activation permissions for Navigation-guided Cruise Assist (NCA) in non-standard scenarios, refines decision-making and control strategies in complex traffic environments, and—combined with the XMC chassis—delivers features such as anti-lift-off during acceleration, anti-dive during braking, and active pothole avoidance. Motion Sickness Relief 3.0 synchronizes subtle seat adjustments with on-screen visuals to enhance passenger comfort. Smart Illumination Light Carpet 2.0 improves hill-adaptive lighting and anti-shake performance. Moreover, “Parking Spot-to-Parking Spot 3.0” now supports semantic navigation parking, one-tap navigation to charging spots, and gesture-controlled vehicle unparking. A new all-terrain adaptive off-road mode can identify complex terrains and autonomously adjust control strategies accordingly. In the intelligent cockpit domain, Huawei unveiled HarmonySpace 6, built on the MoLA 2.0 architecture. Its System Agent module has been upgraded to an end-to-end large model, and a new-generation Harmony Cockpit XiaoYi Agent now supports full-scenario conversational interaction. Cockpit hardware includes an in-cabin AI multimodal perception system (AMS), an integrated triple-function smart headlamp module IHm830, and a commercial-grade LCoS automotive projection light engine.
