The Beijing Off-Road BJ81 (also known as "Beijing 81") made its debut and opened for pre-orders at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, with a pre-sale price range of RMB 200,000 to 250,000. Positioned as China’s first “tactical box-shaped” SUV, it will initially launch with a special “Veteran Edition,” scheduled for official market release on August 1 in Nanchang. In terms of exterior design, the BJ81 features a classic five-hole front grille, each hole embedded with red LED lighting elements. The headlights integrate five-strip turn signals. Flared fender flares adorn both front and rear wheel arches, paired with dual seven-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it adopts a “Guanyin-door” split tailgate design and includes an externally mounted storage box. Interior highlights include shell-casing-shaped toggle switches, topographic military-map-inspired trim panels, a rifle-bolt-style shift lever, a tactical backpack-inspired spare tire storage system, and pistol-grip mechanical door handles. The vehicle measures 4,850 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,975 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. It is powered by a range-extender system combined with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, built on a body-on-frame architecture. The suspension features independent setups and three differential locks. Braking is handled by six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear, with tires sized at 305 mm.
