At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Nissan unveiled two new energy SUV concept vehicles and announced that their production versions will hit the market within one year. The first is the "Urban Plug-in Hybrid SUV" concept, a strategic product developed by integrating global resources and focusing specifically on Chinese consumer needs. It combines electrification technology, premium perceived value, and everyday practicality, serving as a bridge between the current NX8 and future Nissan SUV models. The second is the "Terrano" plug-in hybrid concept SUV, designed for all-scenario usage with enhanced full-terrain off-road capabilities. It features Nissan’s V-motion design language and a rugged, mecha-inspired aesthetic. In addition, Nissan plans to launch three more new energy vehicles in the Chinese market within the next year, bringing the total number of new models introduced to five. The company aims to achieve annual sales of one million units in China by fiscal year 2030. Some of these models will also be exported to overseas markets: the N7 sedan will be sold in Latin America and Southeast Asia; the Frontier Pro pickup will be exported to Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East; and the NX8 along with other models will enter select global markets.
