On April 25, at the Beijing International Auto Show, the Denza brand unveiled its new soft-top convertible electric supercar, the Denza Z. Featuring a four-seat layout, this variant follows the previously launched hardtop version and was designed under the leadership of Wolfgang Egger, BYD’s Global Design Director. The vehicle showcases a distinctive “horizon” character line, an exclusive “Verde Florence” paint color, and carbon-fiber aerodynamic components. Its retractable soft-top stows away without encroaching on cabin space, while the interior features a floating square-shaped screen and a wireless charging panel. The soft-top Denza Z is built on the Yi.San.Fang intelligent vehicle control platform and employs a tri-motor independent drive architecture—comprising one front motor and two rear motors—delivering over 1,000 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2 seconds. The dual rear motors enable independent torque vectoring and steering, achieving a turning radius of just 4.62 meters. It also features the Yunniu-M intelligent magnetorheological suspension system, capable of millisecond-level damping adjustments. Built on an 800V high-voltage platform and equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, the Denza Z offers a CLTC-rated all-electric range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. It can charge from 10% to 70% state of charge in under five minutes under ambient temperatures.
