At the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, the BMW Group unveiled 16 world premieres, including the all-new BMW 7 Series, the Neue Klasse (New Class) BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, and the Neue Klasse BMW i3 Long Wheelbase. The Neue Klasse BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase features a 3D illuminated kidney grille and “Digital Angel Wings” lighting design. It measures 4,885 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm—108 mm longer than the standard-wheelbase version. Built on BMW’s new-generation NCAR platform, the vehicle is equipped with an 800V high-voltage architecture and sixth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology, delivering a CLTC-rated range of over 900 kilometers. It is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024. The Neue Klasse BMW i3 Long Wheelbase is the first sedan based on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform. Its front fascia features an illuminated dual-kidney grille and new segmented “7-shaped” LED daytime running lights. Semi-flush door handles on the sides help reduce aerodynamic drag, while the rear is highlighted by near-full-width LED taillights. Also built on the NCAR platform and equipped with the 800V architecture and sixth-generation eDrive technology, it achieves a CLTC-rated range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. The all-new BMW 7 Series continues the current design language, retaining the large dual-kidney grille and split headlight configuration. Inside, it features the BMW Panoramic iDrive system, with 70% of the source code for the China-specific Neue Klasse Operating System X developed and optimized by BMW’s Chinese team. The vehicle is powered by a customized AI engine co-developed by BMW and Alibaba and enhanced by DeepSeek, and supports an L2-level hands-free navigation-assisted driving system covering end-to-end scenarios. It adopts large cylindrical battery cells and offers a CLTC-rated range of nearly 800 kilometers.
