The all-new Li Auto L9 Livis made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, with a pre-sale price of RMB 559,800. The following day, Li Auto provided further details on the flagship SUV’s exterior design. Designer Benjamin explained that generational redesigns should follow an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary approach, citing iconic models such as the Porsche 911, Land Rover Range Rover, and Mercedes-Benz G-Class as references. He emphasized that each new generation should become “more like itself.” Thanks to the highly integrated third-generation self-developed range extender, the new vehicle achieves a short front overhang and long rear overhang proportion. Combined with a tall hood, broad-shouldered trapezoidal rear end, and 22-inch wheels, the design enhances its muscular presence and sculpted lines. At the same time, to ensure urban usability, the overall dimensions are carefully controlled at 5.25 meters in length and 2 meters in width—avoiding unnecessary enlargement. The L9 Livis features the industry’s first Crystal Gray chrome trim, which delivers a deep gray tone while retaining a mirror-like finish, creating harmonious light-and-shadow layers against the gold body color. Regarding the two-tone paint scheme, the designer noted that this treatment has traditionally been reserved for ultra-luxury brands like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maybach, aiming to elevate user experience through a higher standard of design language. Li Auto stated its ambition to align its product design with top-tier luxury brands, offering users a lifestyle they’ve never experienced before.
