BYD Dynasty Network's first D-segment flagship SUV, the Tang EV, opened for pre-orders on April 25 and received over 30,000 orders within 24 hours. With a pre-sale price range of RMB 250,000 to 320,000, the vehicle is scheduled to officially launch in the first half of 2024. Built on BYD’s full-domain 1000V high-voltage architecture, the Tang EV features second-generation Blade Battery technology, delivering a maximum CLTC range of up to 950 km. It supports ultra-fast charging with a 10C battery and 1000A charging current, enabling a theoretical peak charging power of 1000 kW. Powertrain options include both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants, with the AWD version accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Exterior styling adopts BYD’s latest family design language, highlighted by an extended full-width daytime running light, vertical headlights, and two prominent character lines on the hood. The vehicle measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Inside, it offers a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, featuring dual zero-gravity front seats and independent third-row seats with armrests. The cabin includes a floating central touchscreen, a passenger-side entertainment screen, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen for second-row passengers. The Tang EV is equipped with advanced technologies such as the Yunniu-A dual-chamber air suspension with road preview system, crab-walk mode, and rear-wheel steering. Additional premium features include a 3nm-process chip, a 7.1.4-channel Devialet audio system with 27 speakers, and a “Sky Mirror” laminated panoramic glass roof.
