Black Sesame Joins Li Auto's Xinghuan OS Ecosystem to Advance Deep Chip Platform Integration

On April 26, Black Sesame Technologies officially announced its entry into Li Auto’s Xinghuan OS open-source ecosystem. The two parties will collaborate on joint open-source development, leveraging Black Sesame’s full range of chip platforms to deeply adapt and optimize the Xinghuan OS for performance. Xinghuan OS is Li Auto’s self-developed vehicle operating system designed for AI-driven intelligence. It comprises four core modules: intelligent vehicle control, intelligent driving, communication middleware, and information security systems. The OS features technical capabilities such as resource pooling and sharing, deep hardware-software decoupling, and flexible adaptation across multiple architectures. Development of the system began in 2021, with cumulative investment of RMB 1 billion and a team of 200 engineers. Black Sesame Technologies will contribute its Huashan and Wudang chip families, addressing computing needs across all scenarios—from ADAS and intelligent cockpits to cross-domain integration. Under the collaboration plan, development boards for the Xinghuan OS open-source ecosystem will be built on Black Sesame’s chip platforms. Additionally, Black Sesame will open-source software for its entire chip portfolio and work closely with the Xinghuan OS community on co-development.
