The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recently officially published an international standard, "Commercial Vehicles — Location of Electrical and Pneumatic Connections Between Tractor and Trailer," revised under China's leadership. This standard focuses on vehicle combinations consisting of tractors and trailers, with key revisions covering the positioning of electrical and pneumatic connectors, installation sequence, operational clearance, and pipeline protection. Such vehicle combinations are the primary type used in long-haul road freight transport, accounting for more than 50% of total road freight ton-kilometers globally, and nearly or over 80% in major economies such as China, the United States, and Europe.
