On April 28, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) announced plans to place 62.385 million H-shares to no fewer than six placees at an offering price of HK$628.20 per share—representing a discount of approximately 7% to the previous trading day’s closing price—and expects to raise net proceeds of HK$39.11 billion. The placed shares account for 40.01% of the company’s currently issued H-shares and 1.38% of its total issued shares after the placement. The placing agents include Merrill Lynch (Asia-Pacific) Limited, China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited, J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited, and Morgan Stanley Asia Limited. The company stated that the placement aims to expand its capital base and strengthen its financial resources to support its ongoing global expansion in the new energy vehicle market and technological innovation, as well as enhance its visibility and influence in international capital markets.
