The first production-unit Tesla Semi electric truck has officially rolled off the assembly line. The model was first unveiled in 2017, with initial plans calling for mass production several years later. At Tesla’s 2025 Annual Shareholder Meeting, Elon Musk stated that Semi production is progressing according to schedule and that deliveries will officially begin in 2026. The meeting also featured the first public reveal of the Semi’s updated exterior design, showcasing a styling language now fully aligned with Tesla’s current vehicle lineup. During the Q1 2026 earnings call, Musk noted that due to its entirely new supply chain, initial Semi production volumes will be very limited but are expected to grow exponentially by the end of this year and into next year. Tesla plans to significantly ramp up capacity across all its factories and vehicle models for the remainder of 2026.
