On April 30, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. has issued a recall for certain imported G580 all-electric vehicles. The recall affects 217 vehicles produced between February 9, 2024, and October 14, 2024, under recall campaign number S2026M0051V. The recall is due to insufficient robustness of the wheel bolts, which may loosen after repeated wheel removals and installations combined with extreme driving conditions, potentially compromising vehicle stability and increasing the risk of a collision. As a corrective measure, the company will replace the affected wheel bolts with improved ones free of charge through its authorized dealers to eliminate the safety hazard.
