Porsche has announced that two Porsche 963 race cars will feature special liveries in the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, held at Laguna Seca. The design incorporates Apple’s early colorful logo and the words “apple computer,” commemorating both the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport and the 50th anniversary of Apple Inc. This livery pays tribute to the Porsche 935 K3 that competed at Le Mans in 1980. Apple stated that its collaboration with Porsche dates back to 1980, when a Porsche race car first bore the Apple logo, marking the beginning of a long-standing partnership rooted in innovation and creativity. The event will take place on May 3 local time.
