Pony.ai Unveils New Robotaxi with Full Vehicle Cost Under RMB 230,000

During the Beijing Auto Show, Pony.ai CEO Peng Jun announced the launch of a new version of its Robotaxi product, with the total vehicle cost—including the car, battery, and autonomous driving kit—now reduced to below RMB 230,000, undercutting the base price of the Tesla Model 3. The company had previously completed an iteration of its Robotaxi model in April 2025 and began operations in November of the same year, by which time the cost of its autonomous driving kit had already dropped by 70% compared to earlier versions. This latest cost reduction reflects the company’s continued progress in autonomous driving technology and scaled production.
