The official images of the new Mercedes-Benz GLS have been officially released. The vehicle is expected to debut in overseas markets by the end of 2026 and arrive in the Chinese market in 2027. Exterior-wise, the most notable changes are at the front fascia. The headlights feature a new “Dual Star Emblem” design with star-shaped internal lighting elements. The central three-pointed star emblem is illuminated, and an optional illuminated grille surround is available. Higher trims are equipped with the “Starry Sky Grille,” composed of a matrix of 216 individually chrome-plated dots, paired with a redesigned front bumper. The side profile retains the current model’s large SUV silhouette, featuring a straight roofline and character line, complemented by roof rails and large multi-spoke alloy wheels. New exterior color options include Midnight Black, Crystal Silver, and Emerald Green. At the rear, the GLS adopts a full-width 3D taillight design shared with the new E-Class, integrating the three-pointed star motif within the lighting graphics. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with the MBUX Superscreen system, comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and a 14-inch passenger display. Additional features include an AI-powered virtual assistant, seat vibration massage functionality, a rear-seat entertainment system, and a new steering wheel. The driver assistance systems have also been updated. Under the hood, the GLS offers a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, as well as an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo flat-plane V8 engine. All variants come standard with the E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL predictive air suspension system.
