Daimler Truck reported an adjusted operating profit of €498 million (approximately $583.56 million) for the first quarter, down by more than half from €1.08 billion in the same period last year. The company attributed the decline primarily to weak demand in North America and the impact of import tariffs. Sales in North America fell 25% year-over-year to 29,432 units, and the adjusted sales margin dropped sharply to 5.4% from 14.4% a year earlier. Despite the downturn, the company maintained its full-year guidance unchanged and noted that new orders for its North American truck business surged 86% year-over-year.
