Since 2023, McLane Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, has partnered with autonomous trucking firm Aurora Innovation on a pilot program. The initiative currently operates seven days a week, running two fully autonomous freight round trips daily between Dallas and Houston. The company plans to launch multiple new autonomous freight routes across the U.S. Sun Belt region by year-end, connecting its own distribution centers with restaurant locations, and intends to expand the application of this technology to other business segments in the future.
