At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BYD and Chery unveiled their jointly developed sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries. These batteries offer significant improvements over conventional liquid lithium-ion batteries in terms of energy density, driving range, support for 5C ultra-fast charging, and safety. Both automakers plan to begin mass production of these solid-state batteries in 2027.
