From April 30 to May 2, 2026, the 2026 CAMF New Energy Drifting Challenge – Hainan will be held at the Changying Wonderland in Haikou City, Hainan Province. Spanning three days, this event marks the world’s first drifting competition exclusively for new energy vehicles and China’s inaugural national-level new energy drifting championship. All competing vehicles will be identical-specification Zeekr 007 electric race cars manufactured in China. The event has attracted 32 professional drift drivers from home and abroad. The competing vehicles retain their original triple-electric systems (battery, motor, and electronic control) and have been specially modified and tuned solely according to CAMF standards to meet safety requirements and drifting performance needs, with comprehensive safety measures implemented accordingly. These electric race cars feature zero emissions, low noise, and instantaneous throttle response without lag, demonstrating excellent reliability and handling even under extreme conditions. Their instant torque delivery enables sharper and more precise initiation and maintenance of drifts compared to internal combustion engine vehicles.
