The first all-electric SUV from SAIC Motor’s MG brand under the MG4 family—the MG4X—has officially made its debut and will launch nationwide blind pre-orders on May 11. Built on a dedicated EV platform, the MG4X is positioned as a compact SUV with dimensions of 4,500 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 (or 1,627) mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. The MG4X offers two battery options: a 53.9 kWh pack and a 64.2 kWh pack, utilizing lithium iron phosphate and manganese-based semi-solid-state lithium-ion cells. Under CLTC conditions, these deliver ranges of 510 km and 610 km, respectively. Powering the vehicle is a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor available in two output variants—125 kW and 150 kW—with a top speed of 190 km/h and a rear-wheel-drive layout. In terms of exterior design, the MG4X features an illuminated MG logo and a full-width light bar across the front fascia, paired with sharp headlight clusters. The side profile showcases smooth lines, complemented by dual-tone side mirrors, roof rails, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, a贯穿-style taillight enhances the clean, tech-forward aesthetic. Inside, the MG4X adopts a more minimalist approach compared to the MG4, featuring a larger instrument display while retaining the brand’s signature central touchscreen layout. For intelligent connectivity, the vehicle debuts a co-optimized smartphone-to-car integration system developed jointly by MG and OPPO, enabling seamless, cable-free interaction between mobile devices and the infotainment system. It also includes advanced driver-assistance features such as highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) powered by Horizon Robotics’ game-theory-based large model, along with automated parking capabilities.
